Five talks I can
carry cold
Each of these comes out of work I'm doing right now, not a deck I wrote in 2019. They flex from a 20-minute session to a half-day workshop.
-
Put your kids on payroll — legitimately
The family-business tax strategy done properly: which entity types actually preserve the FICA exemption (this is where nearly everyone gets burned), what "reasonable compensation" means for a twelve-year-old, the documentation standard that survives a real examination, and the three most common ways this gets done wrong. Audiences love this one because it's specific, legal, and immediately usable.
-
Running four companies with a small team
The unglamorous mechanics of a multi-entity operation: what actually delegates and what never will, where the leverage really is, how the finance cadence holds it together, and the trade-offs I'd warn you about before you start.
-
AI in small business — from someone shipping it
My favourite subject, and the one I'll talk about longest. Not a survey of tools and not a keynote about the future: I run an AI studio that has built four platforms, and this is what actually happened when we put them inside a working tax, accounting, and hospitality operation. What held up, what broke, what I rolled back, and the honest boundary where a human still has to own the answer. For owners who are tired of being told AI matters and want to know what to do on Monday.
-
Business and taxes for real estate professionals
Built for agents and 1099 contractors: entity setup and what it actually costs, keeping books that survive a bad year, setting money aside so April isn't a shock, and the honest answer on when an S-corp helps and when it's just paperwork.
-
Reading your own numbers
A working session for owners who sign the returns but were never taught to read what they're signing. We open real statements, find the three numbers that actually move the business, and build a monthly rhythm that survives a busy quarter.
Where I'm
speaking next
Legacy Creators
Featured Speaker & pitch-contest judge — hosted by Shawn Mahdavi of Create A Legacy at Plug and Play Frisco, The Star. A morning of founders and operators, plus judging the Legacy Creators Pitch Contest.
Business & Taxes for Real Estate Agents
Hosted by Erin Waddel — a working session for agents and 1099 contractors on business setup, bookkeeping, setting money aside for taxes, and when an S-corp actually earns its keep.
Allen Chamber Foundation — “AI In Action”
Week 5 of a six-week series — AI for Finance, Forecasting & Business Decision-Making. Ninety minutes, intermediate to advanced, ending in a live build: KPI dashboard, cash-flow and sales forecast, bank-loan checklist and executive summary from anonymized data. Clean data vs. poor data, scenario planning, pricing analysis — and a straight answer on what AI should never do without professional review.
However your
room is built
Keynote
30–60 minutes. One idea, carried hard, with real numbers behind it. Q&A included and genuinely welcome.
Workshop
Half day or full day. Hands on materials, real statements, and people leaving with something built rather than noted.
Panel or fireside
Happy to be the one on the panel who gives a straight answer instead of three careful ones.
